Pollyanna’s Kind of Having a Rough Weekend

unhappy camper

Over at the New York Times, a columnist asks How can Trump opponents take on people who will stop at nothing? Answering his own rhetorical question, sort of, he sort of hints that it’s time for progressives to start vigorously exercising their sacred Second Amendment rights.

And, writing in the New York Review of Books, Joseph O’Neill rends his garments, explaining, in excruciating detail and and at very great length, how the Democratic Party is going to hell in a handbasket. Mr. O’Neill turns out to be Distinguished Visiting Professor of Written Arts at Bard College, a specialist in Irish and Celtic Studies, and the author of several novels. He was, I take it, paid by the word for his article.

Pollyanna phoned to say that she is not a happy camper.

I called her attention to an article in The Guardian—‘It eats him alive inside: Trump’s latest attack shows endless obsession with Obama—describing how, in total disregard of any instinct for political survival, Trump wants to make the 2020 election a choice between Trump and Obama.

Also, remember how, two or three weeks ago, Trump threatened to sue his campaign manager, Brad Parscale? Turns out Trump would actually have a pretty good case. Check out Jonathan V. Last, How Brad Parscale Conned Donald Trump: What if the Trump campaign’s digital operation is a Potemkin Death Star? As Mr. Last observes, “inside every con man is a mark.”
